THE RACE FOR ALL Y’ALL

Since 1979, the Crescent City Classic 10k has been a New Orleans tradition. The race, which takes place every year on the Saturday before Easter Sunday, is produced locally by the Crescent City Classic Foundation,  a not-for-profit 5013c entity. People of all physical abilities participate, including world-class runners, joggers, walkers, wheelchair athletes, kids in strollers, and even those with rolling beer coolers.

The starting line of the 10-kilometer course (6.2 miles) in Downtown New Orleans in front of the Caesars Superdome. From there, participants (many in costume) run through the French Quarter, all the way up beautiful Esplanade Avenue to New Orleans City Park where they cross the finish line under the cool, shady, ancient live oak trees.

The events surrounding the Crescent City Classic make for a jam-packed Easter weekend. The fun includes a two-day Health & Fitness Expo, free and open to the public. Many runners sign up simply to attend the post-race party hosted by Michelob Ultra, complete with live music from local bands and world-famous New Orleans cuisine!

But there’s a serious side to the Classic as well. Every year, the “Run for It” Program sets out to raise $1 million to support local charity partners. No matter who crosses the finish line first, everyone wins!

This fast, point-to-point course is a USAT&F sanctioned and certified 10,000 meters. It starts in front of the Caesars Superdome on Poydras St., proceeds down Poydras, bears left on South Peters and on to Canal Street. The race continues onto N Peters St., where it passes historical Jackson Square. Participants run through the French Quarter, past Cafe Du Monde and the French Market, before taking a left on Esplanade Ave. The course continues down beautiful Esplanade Ave. to the front of New Orleans City Park on City Park Ave and Marconi. The remainder of the course takes place inside the park, before finishing on Lelong Ave. just before the New Orleans Museum of Art, exactly 6.2 miles from the start. For your own safety: no bikes, rollerblades, skates or pets (other than service animals) are allowed on the course.

Please be sure to hydrate prior to and during the race. Nearly all health issues on Race Day are related to dehydration. The Michelob Ultra RaceFest

Festival Info

Race Day from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Festival Grounds in City Park.

Even at the first Classic in 1979, the founders realized you can’t hold an event in New Orleans without music, food and drinks. Most of our participants see the concert, food and beverages as their reward for months of training.

In addition to the great music, food and refreshments, the RaceFest also features an award ceremony and a costume contest which is fun for everyone to watch and participate in! Also, for kids (and adults) of all ages, our “Family Fun Zone” features obstacle courses, inflatables, and more!

The RaceFest is free for runners and children 5 years or younger. Friends and family can join you after the race for $20.00 ($25.00 on race day) Fest passes can be purchased during Online Registration, at the Expo or on Race Day.
If you ordered a Fest pass online, you can pick up your fest pass:
1. On the Thursday and Friday before the race, at the CCC10K Expo Fest Pass Kiosk.
2. On race day, at the Festival Tickets Tent in front of the Reunion Shelter entrance.

The Michelob Ultra RaceFest will take place on Race Day:
Time: 8:30 am – 1:00 pm. Location: City Park Festival Grounds.

Private Party Tents

Come enjoy the excitement of the Crescent City Classic at the Michelob Ultra RaceFest and throw your own party in the Private Party Tent Village! The Private Party Tent Village is located at the back of the Festival Grounds in City Park.

There is a non-refundable deposit per 10×10 space, which secures your spot inside the festival grounds for your Private Party. If you choose, you can supply your own tent but must submit a picture of the fireproof tag with your application. Your tent must be assembled the day before the race and removed at the conclusion of the festival.

Tents, tables, chairs, etc are available for rental through Event Rentals (form will be sent to you, after your deposit is sent in with application). Since there are a limited number of spots for Private Party Tents, these reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Family Fun Zone

There’s something for everyone at the Michelob Ultra RaceFest, even kids! Children 10 years and younger can enter the RaceFest for free, and enjoy the kid-friendly activities in the Raising Cane’s Family Fun Zone! Kids will love the interactive games, inflatables, obstacle courses and much more. The Crescent City Classic and Raising Cane’s are dedicated to getting more kids and families outside and active together! Whether it is to run, walk or just come join the festivities after the race, we encourage you to bring the entire family and make the Classic an Easter weekend tradition.
