Run for It

The Run for It program is the Official Charity Program of the Crescent City Classic. The goal of the Run for It program is to raise $1 million annually for our local community in the Greater New Orleans area.

Each year, the Crescent City Classic Foundation selects local nonprofit organizations to support and partner with for the 10k race.

Official nonprofit partners recruit and form teams of runners, joggers and walkers who commit to raising a minimum of $200 for their chosen nonprofit by race day.

Official Charity registrants receive exciting perks and incentives for participating. All of the money raised will be donated directly to the nonprofit.

Run for It Charity Registration Fee:

Ranges from $45 to $60 depending on registration date. Charity registration will always be a $20 discount off of general registration.

RUN/WALK FOR FREE: All participants who raise $300+ for their charity receive a FULL REFUND of their registration!

OFFICIAL NONPROFIT PARTNER WAITLIST:

The Crescent City Classic Foundation is currently not accepting new nonprofit partners for the 2027 Run for It program. To maintain a high-quality experience for our nonprofit partners and participants, the Crescent City Classic limits the number of organizations that participate in the Run for It program each year. This allows each charity to receive the resources, visibility, and support needed to run a successful fundraising campaign.

By joining our waitlist, your organization will be considered should a partnership opportunity become available for an upcoming race.

Organizations on the waitlist will be contacted as openings arise. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee participation but ensures your organization will be among the first considered for future opportunities.

Charity Runner Information

Charity Runner Guidelines:

Participants choose Run for It Charity Registration when selecting event on the first part of the registration page. Run for It participants can run, jog, walk, dance or stroll…don’t let the name deter you!
Participants agree to raise $200.00 through peer to peer fundraising by receiving a unique fundraising page that can be shared through social media, email, and text message.
If a participant surpasses their $200.00 goal and raises $300.00 or more, a full registration fee refund will automatically be applied to their credit card.

How are charity partners selected?

The Crescent City Classic Foundation selects the Run for It Nonprofit partners through an application process.

The Foundation is proud to choose nonprofits that serve the Greater New Orleans area with their mission. The Run for It Nonprofit partners are diverse, so that all runners and walkers can choose to fundraise for a cause that inspires them.

How does fundraising work?

Participants that choose to run or walk for a nonprofit receive a fundraising page to raise their required $200.00 for their selected nonprofit.

Each charity runner fundraises independently on the nonprofit’s behalf using their own network of family and friends through peer-to-peer fundraising.
