Since 1979, the Crescent City Classic 10k has been a New Orleans tradition. The race, which takes place every year on the Saturday before Easter Sunday, is produced locally by the Crescent City Fitness Foundation, a not-for-profit 5013c entity. People of all physical abilities participate, including world-class runners, joggers, walkers, wheelchair athletes, kids in strollers, and even those with rolling beer coolers.
The starting line of the 10-kilometer course (6.2 miles) is Downtown New Orleans in front of the Caesars Superdome. From there, participants (many in costume) run through the French Quarter, all the way up beautiful Esplanade Avenue to New Orleans City Park where they cross the finish line under the cool, shady, ancient live oak trees.
The events surrounding the Crescent City Classic make for a jam-packed Easter weekend. The fun includes a two-day Health & Fitness Expo, free and open to the public. And many runners sign up simply to attend the post-race party hosted by Michelob Ultra, complete with live music from local bands and world-famous New Orleans cuisine!
But there’s a serious side to the Classic as well. Every year, the “Run for It” Program sets out to raise $1 million to support local charity partners. No matter who crosses the finish line first, everyone wins!
The 2023 Virtual Crescent City Classic option is a way to experience the fun and excitement of the CCC10K in your own backyard!
You pick the course & the time, and reach your personal fitness goals.
You’ll receive your t-shirt, racing bib, and earn your commemorative finisher medallion. You can even donate to charity!

Start your CCC experience on the right foot at the free 2-day Health & Fitness Expo! Located in the Hyatt Regency New Orleans Hotel in Downtown New Orleans, the Health & Fitness Expo features exhibitors showcasing the latest in running apparel, shoes, exercise equipment, nutritional and wellness products, fitness services, and much more.
Race Day from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm at the Festival Grounds in City Park.
Even at the first Classic in 1979, the founders realized you can't hold an event in New Orleans without music, food and drinks. Most of our participants see the concert, food and beverages as their reward for three months of training.
Over the years, the Crescent City Classic's post-race festival has featured up-and-comers and some of the most notable names in New Orleans music.
Aside from the great music, food and refreshments, the RaceFest also features an award ceremony around 10:30 am for our Elite athletes and local winners, as well as a costume contest, which is fun for everyone to watch and participate in! Also, for kids (and adults) of all ages, our "Family Fun Zone" features an entire area designated for obstacle courses, inflatables, and more!
The RaceFest is free for runners and children 10 years or younger. Friends and family can join you after the race for $20.00 ($25.00 on race day) Fest passes can be purchased during Online Registration, at the Expo or on Race Day. If you ordered a Fest pass online, you can pick this up during the Expo near Late Registration or at the Festival Tickets Tent on race day, in front of the Reunion Shelter entrance.
The 2022 Michelob Ultra RaceFest will take place on Race Day:
Saturday, April 8th from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm at City Park.

If you choose, you can supply your own tent but must submit a picture of the fireproof tag with your application. Your tent must be assembled the day before the race and removed at the conclusion of the festival.
Tents, tables, chairs, etc are available for rental through Event Rentals (form will be sent to you, after your deposit is sent in with application). Since there are a limited number of spots for Private Party Tents, these reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The "Run For It" Program is the Official Charity Program of the Crescent City Classic. The goal of the "Run For It" Program is to raise $1 million annually and serve the Greater New Orleans area needs. Each year, the Crescent City Fitness Foundation selects local charities to support and partner with for the 10k race.
Official Charity Partners recruit and form teams of up to 100 charity runners/walkers, who commit to raising a minimum of $250 for their charity by race day. Official Charity Runners receive various perks and incentives for joining the program, including a personal online fundraising page. All of the money raised will be donated directly to and benefit our selected charity partners.

All bags will be checked at the start and finish areas.
Yes, strollers are still welcome at the CCC as we want this to be a family friendly event. However, participants walking with a stroller must select their estimated 10k time as H/YELLOW at 90+ min. when registering and line up with fellow walkers in the last yellow corral on Race Day, which will be located on Sugar Bowl Dr. Jogging strollers will not be allowed entry into any other corral on race day.
Yes! Walkers are a great part of the Classic, but we ask that walkers be courteous to fellow runners and particularly aware of those trying to pass. Please do not line up more than two abreast.
